Ralph Petty grave - This picture was taken in the early 1950's in Barren Co., KY. I understand that the gravestone is now missing. Standing by the grave are:
Charles Petty, May Petty, and Charles' son (Neuman Petty).

Pine Cottage Farm, home to the Petty/Quarles family was near
Paducah, McCracken county, Kentucky.

Home of Rev. Ralph Petty (1767 - 1851) in Barren county, Kentucky. His first wife, Isabella McClure Petty (1773 - 1812) probably never lived in this home. He was living in this home in Hitesville (? spelling), Barren, Kentucky at the time of his death. In his will he made arrangements for Isabella to have a gravestone that looked like his placed on her grave. I doubt that his children did that. His son Henry, who was from the second marriage, was in charge of settling his affairs. The house is vintage 1835 -1850.
Joshua Eugene Petty of Grayson county, Texas (1819 - 1861)
Ralph Petty, Jr. (1804 - 1885 and married Lucy Embrey) with his daughters,
Harriet Elizabeth (born 1832) and Nancy Jane (born 1834).
These daughters married brothers, Joseph Rives and James Monroe Quarles.
This is a Daguerreotype, dating from about 1837 in Graves county, Kentucky.
